Knit and Crochet Today

Over the break my little girl and I learned to knit with my sister who was visiting, she bought this book and knitting needles at Wal Mart for 5.00 and by the end of the evening we were all knitting.

The two crochet needles were a little difficult for six year old fingers to handle so we decided later to crochet and it was alot easier for both of us and my little girl whipped out this cute headband in one day working on it off and on.  I helped her with the flowers.

We used this video to learn the basics of crochet.

And I used this one for the flowers

Fishy Purse With Sparkle

We have been busy busy with Christmas parties, programs and the regular day to day life.  I have been making this purse a little bit here a little bit there for about four days now but I'm finally finished and I love the way it turned out.  I saw this purse last week over at Ashley's  and couldn't resist making one for my little girl for Christmas.  The best part about it is I had everything on hand to make it so it was 100% free!

Sparkly colorful scales, the sparkle scales were my little girl's idea and  I think it made it really cute and fun.

Double pullstring at the mouth so you can load up your stuff and cinch it shut.

 Hanging

This was really quite easy and fun to make and the tutorial was great and very easy to follow and the results are really rewarding.  You can find the tutorial here.

I thought I might try and find this story to give along with it, mainly because it's cute and matches and also has a great message on sharing, my 4 year old needs this book.

CHRISTmas Ornaments

Love this video clip, I found it to be very inspiring.

Easy CHRISTmas ornaments for my tree, I only have one made so far....it was a busy weekend.
I cut my image a little small for my frame so you can see some rough edges but other than that I love it.  It really jumps of the tree because the lights shine through and make it glow a little bit.  I found my images on google and printed them onto vellum and made a frame out of a cereal box then glued and glittered with the fine Martha Stewart glitter.

It really glows at night

Ready For Christmas

Nothing quite like a cute baby in Christmas Jammies decorating the tree to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Yay lots and lots of balls to throw around!

She did most of the work and did a great job decorating

 All finished

My busy school girl did homework and decorated the tree

Many hands make light work or does it go many little hands make a mess

 So excited!

I'll be back monday with some CHRISTmas ornaments for the tree that I will be making over the weekend.

Merry Christmas!
